What age can kids start Jiu-Jitsu at Spa City JJA?
Our kids’ program accepts children starting at age 5. Kids are grouped by age and experience level so every child is appropriately challenged without being overwhelmed.
Does your kids' program help with bullying?
Absolutely. Our kids’ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program teaches practical anti-bullying skills, not just physical self-defense, but the confidence, composure, and communication skills that help kids handle difficult situations. Children learn to stay calm under pressure, set boundaries, and respond assertively without aggression.

Does Spa City JJA have a competition team?
Yes, we support students who want to compete in local and regional BJJ tournaments across the East Coast. Competition is entirely optional, most of our members train for fitness, self-defense, and personal growth. But if you want to test your skills in tournament competition, our coaching staff will prepare you.
Do you offer no-gi Jiu-Jitsu?
Yes, we offer both gi and no-gi BJJ training. No-gi focuses on grappling without the traditional uniform, using rashguards and shorts instead. It’s popular with MMA enthusiasts and athletes from other sports looking to add grappling skills.
